In this class, you will create mixed media art using various found-objects and common household items using a gel printing plate. You will build confidence in your artistic ability while having fun as you learn to use different papers and techniques resulting in several finished collage projects. Your completed art project will be ready for framing! Students are required to bring the following items to class: Matte Mod Podge or Liquitex Basics Acrylic Matte Fluid Medium, container or package of wet wipes, various household items for mark-making , a hard surface to adhere collage project such as a wood panel, heavy cardboard, multimedia paper in a sketchpad, or stretched canvas, various sizes of brushes, various flat papers, Royal & Langnickel Acrylic Paint tubes from Walmart (your color of choice) or Apple barrel Acrylic Craft Paint set (your color of choice). Effective Community Policing is not about having more community cookouts and holding more mundane community meetings. Community Policing is an organizational crime reduction philosophy focused on Customer-Centric-Policing strategies to reduce crime and to enhance customer engagement and accountability in the problem-solving process. This course prepares students to provide massage therapy for all clients including special populations. During this 660-clock hour course, students obtain a strong foundation in Swedish massage and therapeutic deep tissue work. In addition to the hands-on applications, students are taught basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, somatic psychology, assessment skills, business management, and ethics. This course includes a clinical component where students will gain experience working directly with clients. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). After a passing score on the MBLEx, students will be able to apply for licensure with the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy and begin their professional career as a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).
