Basic Rider Motorcycle Safety

If you’re new to riding or haven’t ridden in a long time, our motorcycle safety course is a must. You’ll become familiar with the location and operation of controls while riding on a protected range, and you will learn the basic skills needed to safely operate a motorcycle in traffic. This 16-hour course is taught by nationally certified instructors and is held on weekends.

  • Successful completion earns you a skills waiver card for the NCDMV
  • The registration fee is non-refundable
  • Class size is limited and will operate rain or shine

  • Motorcycles and training manuals are provided
     
  • You must wear an approved helmet, over-the-ankle footwear, long pants, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, full-fingered gloves, and protective eye wear at all times while training
     
  • There is a mandatory, free e-course provided by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation that must be completed prior to the first class. The coordinator will contact you by email with the coupon code and login information
     
  • A copy of the e-course Certificate of Completion must be presented to the instructor on the first day of class, prior to class beginning. »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ CC library resources are available for online support and printing if needed
