This class will give you an introduction to the basic fundamentals of American Sign Language (ASL), including an overview of ASL history and culture. You will learn finger spelling, numbers, phrases, and expressions. This class is recommended for those who have little to no knowledge of sign language, and it will be voiced.

Students learn the basic concepts, skills and techniques of baking. Emphasis is placed on identification of products, weights and measures. Practical classes cover topics of breads, cakes, pies, puddings and desserts.

This course will focus on leadership principles needed by law enforcement leaders and executives to successfully lead their organizations. This class will focus on the concept of "adaptive change" and the importance of emotional intelligence. Leadership styles, mentoring, and conflict resolution will be evaluated throughout classroom breakout sessions. Students will be challenged with how to become an effective leader and create positive change in their current leadership assignment. This is a demanding hands-on class where students will learn how to deal with toxic employees and unmotivated subordinates. Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.

This class is for beginner meditators or the more experienced who just need a quiet space and convenient time to practice. The class is offered for one hour on Wednesday nights (6-7 pm) on the main campus in New Bern. Total class hours is 4 hours. Wear comfortable clothing. We use a chair for our seated practice.
