Our Workforce Development (WFD) department provides hundreds of short-term training programs in a wide range of topics. You don't need to complete the college application process to take a WFD class. Scholarships and funding opportunities are available to most students. Public Safety students (fire, EMS, paramedic, law enforcement) may be eligible for 100% fee waivers after registering for classes. You will learn finger spelling, numbers, phrases, and expressions. This class is recommended for those who have little to no knowledge of sign language, and it will be voiced.

This course will focus on leadership principles needed by law enforcement leaders and executives to successfully lead their organizations. This class will focus on the concept of "adaptive change" and the importance of emotional intelligence. Leadership styles, mentoring, and conflict resolution will be evaluated throughout classroom breakout sessions. Students will be challenged with how to become an effective leader and create positive change in their current leadership assignment. This is a demanding hands-on class where students will learn how to deal with toxic employees and unmotivated subordinates. Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.

This class is for beginner meditators or the more experienced who just need a quiet space and convenient time to practice.
