The Veteran Enforcers Motorcycle Association (VEMA) of New Bern presented a $1,500 check to the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ CC Foundation on Nov. 16 for the Fallen Officer Memorial Scholarship to benefit students in the college’s Basic Law Enforcement Training program. The VEMA contributions are made in honor and memory of fallen officers who served the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ County community in uniform with commitment and passion to ensure public safety. VEMA established the scholarship six years ago to memorialize New Bern police officer Alexander Thalmann, who was shot and killed in the line of duty at age 22 on March 31, 2014.
